10/24/03: Well, I just returned from a couple of days with that Josh dude in NYC. This past Wednesday night, Josh and his Band played at the Mercury Lounge, where they were part of the "CMJ Music Marathon." Good crowd, hollerin' during the rockin' tunes and quiet as a mouse during the great ballads. The next day, Josh played an acoustic set at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square. This was a weird gig - not the ideal place to listen to Josh -- whirling sounds of coffee makers, street traffic, bells and buzzers from the security doors, and even loud music from the CD section (there's nothing like hearing Josh sing "California" while "Groove is in the Heart" plays in the background) But Josh's songs cut through, and it was a great little set of acoustic Josh...
...And... I managed to take a few pictures and even VIDEOTAPE this acoustic set.... I've never tried something like this before, and despite my inexperience and the atmosphere, I'm thrilled to report that I was able to turn the audio into MP3's, and they ain't bad at all.
So check out the NYC Page for photos, the acoustic set list, and a few new goodies.... |
