The amazing show was over; the Irish shows were complete. Now it was time to toast, a time to meet up with friends and fans, and to enjoy the time we had left in Ireland.

BACKSTAGE. When the house lights came up inside the theatre, I headed backstage to pack up my equipment, get my stuff, and to congratulate the boys on a great show. I had been double-fisted with beers all night, and someone - who will remain nameless - had something a little stronger waiting for me back there (Zack and Sam, I'm looking in your general direction...). I'm blaming the fuzzy details of the remainder of the night on them. Little did I know that the night was just beginning.

IN THE LOBBY. Then it was time for what I'm sure is the band's favorite part: meeting and greeting the fans. I love hearing about how much this is appreciated, especially by "new" fans. Over the past few weeks (in February), it was the Counting Crows fans and Damien Rice fans who experienced this. Just further proof that the band aren't only great musicians, but great guys...
Now, this was probably the first time that I was actually next to Josh as he first walked out into the lobby, bar or theatre to mingle with fans...The *gasp* of excitement and *shriek* of several fans was an absolute kick. They rushed over and surrounded Josh, almost stampeding the dumbstruck American next to him. Everybody was so nice, so genuine, though. This was a really great "post-show."
Enjoy some photos from this fun time...
Then a very late-night...
Cork Opera House, Valentine's Day 2004: While some female fans hound Josh, bass player extradordinaire and legendary ladies' man Zack Hickman is caught by Doug's camera at the very moment he realizes that his reputation does not precede him in Cork, Ireland. But it will, my friends; it is UNSTOPPABLE.

> Sam and Zack with friends Jens and Crystal.
< Zack and I contemplate the band's"rising star"...
< Here's Josh with Kate (left) and Paula (right), who also made the trip over to Ireland from the States for these shows. I had given them one of my disposable cameras to use, so many of these pictures you see here are actually their handiwork. Thanks Kate and Paula!
> Me with my "Cork Connection," Joan Mulcahy (right) and her niece Julie. You may have seen these two on the "Friends & Fans" Photo page, and seen Joan's amazing pictures of Josh onstage on the previous page.
< Flora and Sammy.
> That's Zack and me with Julia Whittredge (on the right) and her friend Kate (left). Julia is an American who is going to school in Cork, and I hope everyone has seen some of her great photos of Josh and the band in Boston in the "Julia Whittredge Collection".
< American gals Paula, Kate, and Erin McKeown.
> Zack and Doug: Another entry in the "Self-Portrait" milieu, and next year's Christmas card...
< Not the most photogenic moment for Josh or I, HOWEVER: I think it perfectly captures the mood: "Rock and roll!"
> Then we're off, for what would be a wonderful, late night of celebrating friends, music, and Ireland.
< But first, a quick pic with my friend Flora.
