| One of the highlights of the Josh Ritter/Erin McKeown co-bill shows was when Erin would join Josh onstage for a special duet of "Tonight You Belong to Me." The finale of the duet was always the appearance of Sam, who would charm the crowd with a whistle solo to end the song. |

| I had heard a lot about the "Iron Horse Music Hall." The Iron Horse is in the very, very hip town of Northampton, Massachusetts, which is about 80 miles west of Boston. After Josh's show in Boston at the Somerville Theater, I stayed in town with friends so I could catch another one of my favorite artists at the Paradise Theater: singer/songwriter Mason Jennings, who was just plain awesome. On Sunday, I made the drive over to Northampton to meet up with Josh, Erin, and the gang. This show was actually two shows - a double header. For the early show, Erin McKeown opened and Josh closed. They swapped for the late show. The early show was sold out, and many, many people stayed for both shows (giving them four great sets of music). |

| We all know that with his keys, Sam contributes wonderfully subtle, understated touches to Josh's songs. But try to get a photo of him coming off the stage after performing with Erin, and he's literally " in your face." |
